Green Municipal Fund

The Government of Canada has endowed the Federation of Canadian Municipalities with $550 million to establish and manage the Green Municipal Fund (GMF). The 2005 federal budget added $300 million to the existing $250 million fund, of which $150 million is earmarked for brownfield redevelopment.
It is the only national fund that specifically addresses the needs of municipal governments, its broad range of financial products, resources, expertise and services have become the first stop for municipal governments wanting to pursue environmental infrastructure initiatives.
